Health Wise is a social initiative that works to mitigate stigma and improve access to menstrual and reproductive health education and resources for women and girls from underserved communities in India. Originally launched as “No Need to be Quiet,” the initiative began with menstrual awareness workshops and distribution drives of sustainable sanitary products for young girls.
Building on this foundation, Health Wise expanded its scope to include broader reproductive health awareness. Through expert-led workshops conducted in collaboration with a women’s health practitioner, the initiative facilitates informed discussions on reproductive wellbeing. These sessions are complemented by accessible factsheets that simplify key concepts in reproductive health for wider understanding.
In addition to awareness-building, Health Wise works to improve access to healthcare services. Through targeted fundraising efforts, the initiative supports the provision of subsidized gynecological check-ups and pap smear screenings for women aged 25 and above, enabling access to professional medical guidance.
From an advocacy and awareness perspective, the initiative also extends its work through a podcast platform that explores stigma surrounding women’s reproductive health in the Global South, while highlighting case studies and expert insights. Through these combined interventions, Health Wise aims to increase access to information, resources, and support systems that enable women to make informed decisions about their health.
